To Our Patients

This period continues to difficult time for everyone in our community and we would strongly encourage you to follow – in detail – all of the recommendations around social distancing and to follow the advice available here -

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

We have continued to see patients face to face, where clinically required, throughout the pandemic  but Telephone and Video consultations remain the core of the current service delivery, as mandated by NHS England.

However, we have made recent changes to our processes to enable patients to wait inside the practice (Restricted numbers and socially distanced) prior to their appointments and have also recommenced seeing patients at Birkenshaw.

These changes remain a long way from being a return to the ‘norm’ but are a response to the changes linked to a re-emergence from lockdown, whilst also safeguarding you as our patients and the staff, so that we can remain open to provide healthcare to everyone.

We take your health seriously and remain committed to providing the very best care available to all, with a specific focus on the vulnerable in these testing times.

Our staff continue to come to work to save lives

You can do the same, simply by following the Government advice.

The current Government Guidance for employers and businesses on coronavirus (COVID-19) states;

“By law, medical evidence is not required for the first 7 days of sickness. After 7 days, employers may use their discretion around the need for medical evidence if an employee is staying at home.

We strongly suggest that employers use their discretion around the need for medical evidence for a period of absence where an employee is advised to stay at home either as they are unwell themselves, or live with someone who is, in accordance with the public health advices issued by the government.”
